J. Brantley Durrett, III

Brant Durrett has over twenty-seven years of litigation experience concentrated in complex civil litigation matters with a particular emphasis in insurance and business litigation.

In 1989, Mr. Durrett began his legal career as an associate with Fouts & Moore, LLP. In that capacity, he worked exclusively in the firm's business litigation section. In addition to the usual business litigation matters involving fraud, breach of contract and partnership disputes, his experience includes representing apartment owners in polybutylene litigation and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in litigation related to the takedown and transfer of assets of five savings and loan associations that ultimately became First Gibraltar, FSB.

As an attorney with the Durrett Law Firm, Mr. Durrett represents policyholders, individual and small businesses in litigation to resolve disputes with insurers. Over his 27 years of practice, he has handled hundreds of insurance cases and obtained millions of dollars in settlements for his clients.

I studied and began to practice law because I wanted to help people, as idealized as that may sound. But through my practice, I have been able to do just that. I want to be there for you, to stand up for you and your rights - both in and out of the courtroom.
— Brant Durrett

Aside from his litigation experience, Mr. Durrett has significant appellate experience before the United States Court of Appeal for the Fifth Circuit and the Texas Supreme Court.

Mr. Durrett is a graduate of Baylor University and the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he was editor of the Journal of Space Law. He has been a licensed attorney in Texas since 1989. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum for a settlement obtained on behalf of a client against its insurance carrier in excess of $1 million. He is also a member of numerous professional organizations, including the State Bar of Texas (Sections: Litigation, Insurance, and Commercial and Consumer Law), the New York State Bar Association (Sections: Commercial and Federal Litigation and Trial Lawyers), the College of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association (Sections: Litigation, Consumer and Commercial Law, Cyberlaw, Law Practice Management) and the American Association for Justice (Sections: Motor Vehicle Liability, Insurance, Medical Malpractice, Commercial Litigation and Expert Witnesses).
